Storytime. In 2019, the good news was that my wife was pregnant with our first child. The bad news was that I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy. With beer no longer a choice, I started exploring similar gluten free beverages that were satisfying and could stand up to the taste of my favorite beer. Hard cider was an appealing alternative but most I tried were too sweet and sugary. In talking with other people, my tasting opinion wasn't unique. I seriously wondered if I could make a better and cleaner apple cider, but didn't work out the details, being plenty busy with work and family.

Fast forward a couple of years (and a couple of kids!) and we moved into a vintage home built in 1857 in Andover, Massachusetts. Realizing the property included a three story, 40 foot tall barn in solid condition, I knew I'd be transforming it into something special. The bottom of the barn was in rough shape, with run down horse stalls and dirt floors, but my curiosity about making hard apple cider began to shine.

After a lot of dreaming, discussion, and planning with my family, Andover Cider Co. became a reality in December of 2022. Retail sales kicked in by September of 2023 and our efforts were affirmed by receiving the Bronze Medal in the "Traditional Dry" Category at the US Open Cider Championship.

In three years, we've created a uniquely delicious Classic Apple Cider, plus two highly successful micro batches -- Raspberry Apple Cider and Cranberry Apple Cider. All of our hard ciders have no added sugar, sulfites or preservatives, is naturally gluten free (of course!), unfiltered and refreshingly drinkable on a hot summer day or a snowy winter night.

From our family to yours, we hope you enjoy our small batch, handcrafted Andover Cider as much as we do.
